About Peaceful Children
We are a Catholic Montessori school dedicated to a child-centered approach to education which fosters independence and a love of learning.
Our program consists of:
- Children’s House (ages 3- 6 including a full-day kindergarten)
- Lower Elementary (grades 1 through 3)
- Upper Elementary (grades 4 through 6)
- Middle School (grades 7 and 8)
Class size is intentionally small at Peaceful Children, allowing for one-on-one attention and the ability to individualize the pace at which material is presented to each student. Each classroom is a prepared environment with specially designed materials that encourage exploration and the mastery of learning activities. The classroom consists of a multiage group, which provides unique opportunities for leadership and mentoring among class members.
“Leadership opportunities abound at PCM.
The mixed age class structure provides an
environment where students are called to be
leaders on a daily basis. Each teacher sets
the stage by embracing the role of “guide”
rather than “teacher” in the traditional
sense. This allows students to step forward
and lead. It takes trust in the child and in
the Montessori method for this to unfold.”
