Accreditation
Peaceful Children Montessori is accredited by the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association (OCSAA). The purpose of the OCSAA is “to strengthen Catholic school identity and mission and to engage schools in the ongoing improvement of student learning.” (Source: ocsaa.org)
OCSAA accreditation assures that the accredited school has successfully implemented OCSAA standards. These standards have been approved by the Ohio State Board of Education as being comparable to the Operating Standards for Ohio’s schools. The accreditation process requires that applying schools engage in an extensive self-assessment process and focused strategic planning to assure the school’s continuous work toward becoming and remaining a high-performing school in which students receive a grounding in the Catholic faith and achieve at high academic levels. OCSAA accreditation also requires that schools present evidence that they are actively implementing OCSAA Standards.
Through the OCSAA accreditation process, schools are able to receive and maintain their state charters. In May, 2011, Peaceful Children Montessori School received its second full accreditation from the OCSAA which will be valid for a period of six years.
